Sun Studio

Founded by Sam Phillips in 1950, Sun Studio became a historic landmark in the development of rock, blues, and country music. It is where many legendary artists got their start and helped shape the sound of modern music.

  • Elvis Presley recorded his first song here in 1953, marking the beginning of his legendary career.

  • The famous “Million Dollar Quartet” session—featuring Presley, Cash, Lewis, and Perkins—took place here in 1956.
